Danbury National Honor Society induction

The Danbury High School National Honor Society held its induction ceremony on Monday, Feb. 24, in the Gailord Braithwaite Auditorium. Congratulations to the new members: sophomores  Brianna Adams, Alexis Dayton, Hayley Doski, Marinah Edwards, Racheal Kirk, Kelly Lavelle, Gina Moravec, Alyxandra Perram and Taylor Wilhite; juniors  Kylie Beach, Seth Bowser, Shay Rickard, Megan Stephens, Jack Tyson and Taylor Zelms; and senior Caitlynn Thompson.

To be inducted into the National Honor Society is one of the most prestigious honors one can obtain throughout his or her high school career. To be considered for membership into the Danbury National Honor Society, a student must be a sophomore, junior or senior with a high cumulative grade average of 3.5. The candidates are then evaluated in the areas of character, leadership and service by a faculty committee. Membership in this organization not only honors students for their accomplishments, it challenges them to develop themselves through active involvement in school and community projects. This year the Danbury National Honor Society has hosted a food drive for the Danbury Food Pantry, a Holiday Fun Day for grades K-6 and will be hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, April 30.

Current members are: Lindsay Mark, president; Erin Lavelle, vice-president; Alyssa Almendinger, secretary; Cassidy Rhodes, treasurer; Tori Wright, public relations. Senior members are Allison Ahrens and Alyssa Biro. Junior members are James Dorko, Caleb Gerber, Joseph Mintz and Taylon Molnar. Adviser is Holly Gast.
