Getting up the courage to step foot on a college campus is often difficult enough for adults, but sitting next to a high school student at a recruitment function can be even more intimidating, that’s why Terra State Community College is offering special Adult and Veteran Visit Days on March 3 at 5 p.m. and April 24 at 4 p.m., with additional dates later this spring and summer.
“We wanted to reach out to our adult and veteran population to offer them a special event aimed at their individual needs,” said Kathy Berger, Admissions Recruiter at Terra State. “They will learn about college resources and the admissions process, and how to pay for college.”
Veterans will receive information about the GI Bill as well and everyone will hear details about campus resources, including tutoring and career services.
“We will have some of our adult students available to talk about their experiences and there will also be campus tours,” Berger said. “And we welcome friends and family to join in.”
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
