Leadership Ottawa County Class of 2014 met on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Port Clinton City Schools Board Office. Pat Adkins, Superintendent, and Jeff Dornbusch, Treasurer, talked to the group about what's new in education, school levies and budgets.
The class then traveled to Victorian Inn in Marblehead where owner Ann Duez, a 2007 graduate of Leadership Ottawa County, provided dinner for the group. Ann shared her experiences and offered suggestions. After dinner, the group discussed ideas for the class project. It was decided that the class project will be assisting Adventure Play, part of United Way of Ottawa County, to fund transportation for the Pop up Playground. Pop up Playground targets children ages one through twelve and uses recycled materials to promote creative thinking and innovation during play time. The class project will raise money to help fund transportation so the playground can travel to community events in Ottawa County.
