Port Clinton High School has announced Rick Dominick will be the new Athletic Director and has already started working on the 2013-14 school year. Mr. Dominick has been with the district since 1996 as a Business Teacher, Guidance Counselor, and Coach. He replaces former Athletic Director, Carey Clum, who retired in earlier in June. PCHS Principal Mr. Gary Steyer said, "I'm excited about Rick Dominick taking over as Athletic Director for Port Clinton High School. Rick's knowledge of the SBC as well as his passion for high school sports will make him a natural fit for the position. Our athletes and our coaches are fortunate to have Rick as their Athletic Director."
Mr. Dominick looks forward to his new role in PCHS Athletics and said he believes it is a natural evolution to oversee the athletic programs. At PCHS he has had experience running various programs as both an assistant and a head coach. As a coach, Dominick has led the Redskin Boys Golf Team to several SBC championships. One of his main goals is to continue and improve the partnership with the community and High School Athletics. He said, “We know they benefit each other, both what Redskin Athletics does for the community and equally important how the community support effects student athletes. During the state boys basketball tournament run a few years ago we all experienced it firsthand. The athletes are impacted when they see that people care and feed off of that support.”
