Port Clinton High School recently announced the Students of the Month for December and January. The December 2012 Student of the Month was Sydney Adkins and in January 2013 Trey Gluth was named Student of the Month.
Sydney Adkins is involved in numerous clubs and organizations at Port Clinton High School. She was captain and a four-year member of the Redskin volleyball team, earning Honorable Mention All-SBC, and holds the school record for most assists in a career. She is on the softball team and played basketball for two years. Sydney has also been named a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete and to the All-SBC Academic Team. She is the President of National Honor Society, Treasurer of Leadership Council, a member of Teen PEP and Future Teachers of American and a Freshmen Mentor. Her peers selected her as the 2012 PCHS Homecoming Queen. Next year she will major in Early Childhood Education at Ashland University. Sydney is the daughter of Pat and Paula Adkins.
Trey Gluth is the January 2013 Student of the Month and has devoted a lot of his four years of high school to Redskin Athletics. He is a four-year member of the football team, earning three varsity letters and Honorable Mention All-SBC in 2012. As a four-year member of the baseball team, he was named 2nd Team All-SBC in 2011, 1st Team All-SBC in 2012 and 2nd Team All-District in 2012. In the Summer, he plays baseball for Sandusky American Legion Post 83 Team. At PCHS he is also a member of the Port Clinton High School Leadership Council, International Club, 2012 Homecoming Court, and a Freshmen Mentor. In the Fall of 2012 he was named to the SBC All-Academic Team. Trey is the son of John Jr. & Jan Gluth. Next year he plans to major in history and continue to play baseball at the collegiate level.
