Port Clinton High School recently announced the Students of the Month for September and October, 2012.
Allison Strong is the September 2012 Student of the Month. For October 2012, Sean Black has received the honor.
Allison Strong has been the Drum Major for the Port Clinton High School Marching Band for the past two years and plays the tenor saxophone in Concert Band. This year she also has been Concert Mistress of the PCHS Orchestra as the lead violinist. Allison is a three-year member of the Redskin Swim Team as well as an active member of PCHS Drama Club, serving as a “techie” on the Drama Club productions. She has been a member of National Honor Society for two years and Future Professionals in Medicine for three years. Prior to this year she also was a member of the Lady Redskin Softball Team. Next year, Allison plans to major in Bio Medical Engineering and has narrowed her college search to Toledo, Case Western, and Trine. Allison is the daughter of Kim Strong-Todd.
Sean Black is the son of Bob and Marge Black. Sean was selected as Vice President of the Class of 2013 and was a member of the two-time SBC Championship golf team, receiving 2nd team All-SBC honors in both 2011 and 2012. He also participates in Redskin baseball, receiving Honorable Mention All-SBC in 2011 and was a member of the PCHS state-qualifying bowling team in 2011. In addition to being a two-time All SBC 1st team bowler and honorable mention All-Ohio, Sean is an accomplished bowler, bowling all year round. He has received several scholarships through his success in the Michigan Junior Masters Association and the Junior Tournament Bowlers Association. Other activities include DECA International Club Vice President, DECA Leadership Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Drama Club Historian. Next year he will major in Business Administration and hopes to continue bowling at the collegiate level.
