Volunteer opportunities at Magee Marsh

The Friends of Magee Marsh will be sponsoring many special events throughout the year and are in need of volunteers to assist with these events. Volunteers at the Migratory Bird Center in the Magee Marsh Wildlife Area will be able to enjoy nature and wildlife and help people of all ages.  Volunteers are asked to help with a variety of activities including scheduled programs and events, working in the garden, answering visitors’ questions, assisting in the store and giving out information and maps of the area.

The Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center are 17 miles west of Port Clinton, located at 13229 W. State Route 2, between State Routes 19 and 590. The Bird Center is open weekends beginning March 1 from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. The area is known as one of the best birding spots in North America.

A volunteer training session is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, at 12 p.m. at the Sportsman Migratory Bird Center and will include a pizza lunch.
