Coach Hammond Retiring From Redskin Football

Toby Hammond announced last week he will retire from coaching football, something he has done for the last twenty-five years. The last nine years were as the Head Football Coach of the Port Clinton Redskins. 

While most coaches are judged by wins and losses, there is one thing for certain, the Redskins are better than they were nine years ago. Coach Hammond led the team to become more competitive and some games were just a play or two away from victory.

Heuberger appointed Mortgage Advisor with Stonegate

Stonegate Mortgage Corporation announces the appointment of Mike Heuberger as Mortgage Advisor.

Mike Heuberger has worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years and was previously the owner of Beacon Mortgage Services in Mansfield. Mike lives in Port Clinton, and will be working out of the Stonegate Mortgage Office in Mansfield.

“Thank you for our new school” from Port Clinton Middle School students

Fleet 7 (7th grade students) in Mrs. Nancy Walkers Language Arts classes at Port Clinton Middle School had the assignment to write a thank you letter to the community for their new school. Students were instructed to show details and many noted their favorite parts of the new PCMS. The lesson was based on the Ohio Content standards to write a business letter, using computers and publishing. On this page are some of their letters.
