Magruder Hospital is hosting its first annual "Bras for the Cause" 5K Run/Walk, on Saturday, October 4. The race is in memory of Mimi Campbell who was a long-time Magruder employee, and Director of Nursing, who lost her battle with cancer in 2010.
There will be an optional bra decorating contest at the event. Individuals, families and groups are invited to make a creative bra to display (or wear if you are feeling brave) and some local celebrity judges will pick a winner after the race. There will be race awards for top male and female overall, top male and female in each age group and top 3 walkers.
The cost is $25 per person if pre-registered or $30 on the day of the race. Registration is from 8-8:45 a.m. at the Jefferson Street Pier in downtown Port Clinton, with the race starting at 9 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the Magruder Hospital Foundation. Registration material can be found on the hospital’s website www.magruderhospital.com or if you have questions, you can call 419-732-4061.
