PCMS Students of the Month for March

Port Clinton Middle School Students of the Month Garret Simon, Lucas Patrick and Chloe Avis.  

Port Clinton Middle School recently announced that the Students of the Month for March, 2014, are Garret Simon, Lucas Patrick and Chloe Avis.  

Student of the Month for Fleet 6 is Garret Simon. He is the son of Angie and Dave Simon. Garret has been involved in Boy Scouts and baseball. He won first place in the derby race in Scouts, and third place in the state. He has been very busy this year shoveling snow for his neighbors and working on cars. What he loves most about school: physical education class and lunch. His favorite subjects are math and science. Garret would like to join the Army and serve his country. 

Lucas Patrick is the Fleet 7 Student of the Month. He is the son of Mary and Noel Patrick. Lucas loves dogs and does pet sitting for his neighbors when needed. His favorite classes are anything involving technology and math. When he is at home, Lucas spends most of his time on the computer. One day he would like to be an engineer. 

Fleet 8 Student of the Month is Chloe Avis. Chloe is the daughter of Jamie and Brandon Avis. Chloe has been involved in volleyball, track and softball. What she enjoys most about Port Clinton Middle School: her friends and mid-ship classes. Her favorite core subject class is math. When not in school, she likes spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys bowling, movies and shopping. When asked what she would like to be someday, Chloe said a doctor or marine biologist.

Students answer, and ring, the bell

Besides ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Battle of The High Schools between Oak Harbor and Port Clinton, this year many area schools got involved with raising awareness and funds for The Salvation Army and those in need. 

Oak Harbor Middle School raised $528.72 during the OSU/Michigan Game and Danbury High School held a fund raiser designed to aid students their age who may be suffering from the effects of the slow economy.
