Edgewood Manor hosts therapy reunion

The Rehabilitation Team at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center recently hosted a Rehab Reunion to celebrate National Rehabilitation Awareness Week. The event began with a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Andrew Ward followed by a talk from Barbara Limpert of Port Clinton about her physical and occupational therapy experiences. Mrs. Limpert stated, “I have never been to a place that is so positive. No matter what the situation they are always upbeat.”  Mrs. Limpert continued by saying, “I realized once I got home I still needed to work on some things so I continue to come to Edgewood for outpatient therapy.”

Jason Geretz, Physical Therapist, added to the event by speaking on behalf of the therapy staff. “It is wonderful to be in the community and see our patients doing so well. You become part of our family and we thank you for the opportunity to help,” said Mr. Geretz.

All of those invited are graduates of Edgewood Manor’s Homeward Bound Program. The goal of this program is to restore individuals to their highest level of independent functioning through a team approach, education and training. In 2013, 70 individuals have so far returned to the community.
