October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On Oct. 8 the Soroptimist Club in Fremont invited Alicia's Voice to speak at Terra State on behalf of domestic violence victims and survivors everywhere.

Kathy Newlove, founder of Alicia's Voice, detailed the devastating loss of her daughter, Alicia, who was murdered in a domestic violence rampage. Newlove founded Alicia’s Voice to honor her daughter by helping others deal with and avoid domestic violence.
Also speaking on behalf of Alicia's Voice was domestic violence survivor Amy Goans of Port Clinton, who gave her own account of how the epidemic of domestic violence has impacted her life.
