There is a gap for those in need. “Snap Cards” are provided to those who are not able to purchase food and clothing on their own.
They cannot, however, be used for many needed hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, body wash, deodorant, tooth brushes, tooth paste, razors, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, female hygiene products, diapers, wipes and baby formula.
The confirmation students of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, are collecting and purchasing these items to help fill the gap for those in need. From Sept. 22 to Oct. 21 the community is asked to participate in their Community Needs Project by donating as many as possible of the items listed above.
There will be a drop box at the church located on Adams Street. For those unable to drop off their donations, call the church at 419.734.5548 and someone will arrange to pick up the donation.
