A “Goblin’s Ball” will invade downtown Port Clinton Thursday, Oct. 23, with 35 artists, special costume-making activities for families, and musicians “haunting” the streets, businesses and nightspots during the final Art Walk of 2014. The free family-friendly downtown art celebration features artists, live music and galleries, restaurants and other businesses taking part on the fourth Thursday of each month, from 5-8 p.m.
Families who visit the complimentary Costume Tent on Madison Street will have an opportunity to fashion a mask and patch together a costume out of recycled materials and art supplies. The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council (GPCAAC) will have a limited supply of masks and materials for kids to customize their own mask, and Lake Erie Adventure Play (LEAP) will have recycled cardboard, containers and donated fabric to unleash some creative costumes for Halloween. “My fondest memories of Halloween were coming up with fun ideas for costumes and then figuring out how to make it,” said GPCAAC President Carol Morgan.
