Gospel group singing at Riverfront Live!

The Babbs are performing at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Riverfront Live! located under the canopy at North Jefferson Street, Port Clinton. The Babbs are no strangers To Southern Gospel music. Although they have been singing together for 10 years, their roots go much farther. Brenda Faye has been singing since she was at least 3 years old. She was raised in The Church of God of Prophecy and began singing there by herself as well as with her mother and sister. She has competed on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. Dave was raised in the same church and started out playing drums in his uncle’s band as well as with other groups in the area. The Babbs main goal is to see souls saved and people blessed. They travel as much as they can, singing Gods praises. They don’t charge, but do accept a freewill offering. The Babbs currently have CD’s, and other items that can be purchased at any of their concerts, or at Riverfront Live! is a free summer concert series sponsored by Main Street Port Clinton held on Friday evenings in downtown Port Clinton with the Portage River as a backdrop.
