Gem Beach to Rock Saturday, August 17

Gem Beach Rocks VI is fast approaching. The annual event featuring classic rock, food and cold beverage will be held on the shores of Lake Erie at Gem Beach on Catawba Island on August 17 from noon to 8 p.m. This year’s headliner band is Wally and the Beavs. The rest of the line-up includes The Reese Daily Band from Put-in-Bay, The Junk and Ronnie Howard with Cruisin’.

Title sponsors for this all day rock ‘n roll concert are FriendShip Food Stores, BAS Broadcasting, The Beacon, Minuteman Press, WPCR Port Clinton Radio, and Gem Beach Marina. Admission is $10. This year, several high school reunions are kickin’ it up in the sand during the event. There is something for everyone. 50/50 drawings for cash prizes will be held throughout the day, along with a variety of food and craft vendors.

Tickets will be available starting July 1 at the United Way Office in the Sutton Center, Gem Beach Marina Store, FriendShip BP at SR 53 & 2, FriendShip Marathon on Perry Street, The Lake Erie Shores & Islands Welcome Center on State Rt. 53 or at the gate. All proceeds benefit United Way in Ottawa County.
