Memorial Day parades and services

  • Johnson’s Island Memorial Day services - On Sunday, May 26, there will be a Memorial Day parade around the island beginning at 10 a.m., ending at the Confederate Cemetery. The services on cemetery grounds will begin at 11:30 a.m.
  • Oak Harbor - On Memorial Day, May 27, there will be a parade in Oak Harbor, coordinated by the police department. It starts at 11 a.m. at the Junior High and goes to the cemetery.
  • Portage Township - The Port Clinton VFW will be presenting a “new flag” raising ceremony at the Christy Chapel Cemetery in Portage Township on Memorial Day at 8:30 a.m.
  • Lakeside-Marblehead - The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Memorial Day down Second Street in Lakeside, ending with a ceremony at the Pavilion Circle.
  • Port Clinton - Memorial services will begin at 9 a.m. on Memorial Day at Port Clinton Yacht Club. At 10 a.m. the parade will form in front of the former Junior High and proceeding to Veteran’s Park.
