Reserve spot now for St. John Fall Festival

St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church is planning an all-new Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
The cost to rent one 10-foot table is $20. Flea market or garage sale items are prohibited.

Stacy named First National branch manager

Melinda Stacy has been named branch manager of the Port Clinton office of First National Bank. Stacy has been a First National employee in varying positions in the Ottawa County branches for more than 13 years. She graduated from Port Clinton High School and has also attended classes at the Sandusky Career Center.Stacy
Stacy will assume responsibility for the branch operations of the Port Clinton office located at 117 W. Perry St. along with business development in Port Clinton and the surrounding area. Stacy said she is excited about this new position as it will allow her to be more active in the local community by volunteering on committees and other civic organizations. She is currently a Child Assault Prevention Program Volunteer and was previously involved with the local Kiwanis club and as a 4-H advisor.
Stacy and her husband, Chad, reside in Port Clinton along with their youngest son Dylan. Their oldest son Jordan is serving in the United States Navy, currently stationed in Atsugi, Japan.
First National Bank is an independent community bank located in Bellevue, Catawba, Port Clinton, Put-in-Bay and Sandusky.

Print shop manager buys Minuteman Press

Jim Kieffer, of Bayview, who has served as manager the past several years at the local Minuteman Press franchise in Portage Township, officially purchased the operation effective Aug. 13. He will be moving the full-service print shop into Harbor Lights Landing on Ohio 53 North.
Minuteman Press started operations at 205 S.E. Catawba Road in February of 2001 as a division of Schaffner Publications, owners of The Beacon and North Coast Business Journal. John Schaffner, president and publisher of The Beacon for nearly 30 years, saud that he was extremely pleased he was able to come to an agreement with his longtime manager.
“I know how dedicated Jim is, not just to his craft, but to his customers at Minuteman Press,” said Schaffner.

New home shop in downtown PC

The Port Clinton Chamber recently held a ribbon cutting at Keith Fleming Home Furnishings and Accessories at 132 E. Second St., Port Clinton. Fleming, a Port Clinton native who has been living in Texas, moved home to open the shop that specializes in a fun, energetic mix of antiques and new items. The new addition to downtown is quirky and fun showcasing folk art and more.
