Grand reopening ribbon cutting for Desdemonas

Desdemonas had a grand reopening and ribbon cutting for their new downtown Marblehead location on Thursday, July 24.  Their new location is at 806 W. Main Street, Marblehead.  Desdemonas is open daily from at least 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and currently features 32 artists and craftsmen local to the Lake Erie area.  For more information, visit



Desdemona’s Art Gallery has moved to historic Marblehead building

Desdemona’s Art Gallery is celebrating its grand re-opening on Friday, July 25, in downtown Marblehead as a roster of talented local artists brings a fresh look to the traditional galleries of the region.

Owner Bailey VanKirk and gallery founder Laura Brown Egan, both oil painters, feature their works at the gallery. Desdemona’s is also home to more than two dozen local artists who produce work that ranges from exciting nautical jewelry to photography, watercolors, stained glass and wood creations.

Lake Erie is a powerful inspiration for artists and those doing some exceptional work are represented by Desdemona’s Art Gallery in Marblehead.“We often hear new customers exclaim,‘You have such beautiful things!’,” said Laura Brown Egan, who co-owns the gallery with her daughter, Bailey VanKirk. The artists, who excel as oil painters, opened the gallery16 months ago with a dozen local artists.
