“Discover Ohio To Go" promotion returns, bigger and better

TourismOhio and McDonald's® restaurants of Ohio are launching a second year of “Discover Ohio To Go”, a distinctive promotion designed to provide travelers with exclusive discounts at some of Ohio's most popular tourism attractions. For the first time, the promotion will include McDonald's restaurants in Cleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown. McDonald's restaurants in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Lima and Toledo will also offer the promotion.

Customers who purchase a large beverage at the 632 participating Ohio McDonald's locations between April 28 and June 9 can redeem the cup at participating tourism attractions statewide. Discounts are available throughout the spring and summer on admission, lodging and more.

"At TourismOhio, we're always looking for ways to make a visit to, or through, Ohio even better for our travelers, and leveraging partnerships with businesses is just one way we help build value for visitors," said Mary Cusick, Director of TourismOhio. "Since McDonald's restaurants are a stop for many of our guests throughout the state, it's an obvious opportunity for partnership. We're looking forward to building on the program's successful inaugural year in 2013 to help travelers stretch their budgets and explore a variety of new travel opportunities."

Travelers can visit www.DiscoverOhioToGo.com to find a full list of discounts and deals, as well as a list of participating restaurants throughout the state. To receive the discount, travelers follow directions on the website for each offer and present the clean, empty cup upon arrival at these participating attractions: Cedar Point, Cedar Point Resorts, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Greater Cleveland Aquarium, Hocking Hills Canopy Tours, Imagination Station, Ohio State Parks, Wild Zipline Safari, Wildwater Kingdom and ZipZone Canopy Tours.

"In addition to serving quality, great-tasting food at a great value, our top priority is to provide an exceptional experience for customers in every community we serve," said Shirley Rogers-Reece, vice president and general manager, McDonald's Ohio Region. "The evolution of this promotion and our partnership with TourismOhio is an extension of that commitment, and we're proud to offer Discover Ohio To Go for our customers again this year."

McDonald's will offer the Discover Ohio To Go promotion on specially marked large soft drink or iced tea beverages.
