The evolution of Evolved Featured

Hairstylist and Owner Lori Hornung

Lori Hornung and husband Richard have completely renovated 2108 East Harbor Rd. and have created Evolved Salon Studios. In an innovative business technique, Lori has created mini, individual salons within Evolved; Lori is the landlord and the stylists are the tenants. There are three stylist rooms and two nail rooms with handicap accessible rooms available. All stylists work their own hours and are able to set their own prices.

Lori has been a stylist since 1992 and is occupying one of the rooms. Originally from Grove City, Lori still has clients from the Columbus area that make the trek to Port Clinton to get their hair done by Lori. Lori and Richard have been weekenders to the area for years but decided to become full time residents four years ago. Lori said that her love for the Port Clinton community atmosphere helped her and her husband make the decision to stay.

“To be able to turn this space into a salon is amazing to me,” said Lori.

To promote a family environment, Evolved, in connection with Montessori School located next door, is offering child care for $5 an hour while customers visit the business. To learn more about Evolved Salon Studios visit
