PC Seniors will host their annual "Chili & Soup Cook-off" from 4-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Port Clinton Senior Center, 320 E. Third Street, Port Clinton.
The Cook-off is open to area seniors and those people "not-quite-a-senior-but-wanting-to-compete" ages 55 and older. Competitors may enter a standard-size crock pot (5 qts.) of chili, or soup or both, but must register by Sept. 28, and are asked to have their entry at the Senior Center by 3:30 p.m. on the day of the competition. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Beverages and snacks will be provided. Guests are invited to bring a dessert. Doors open at 3:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place chili and soup winners, and for best dessert. There will also be door prizes.
Cook-off Coordinator, June Kwiatkowski, recommends early registration to compete or to sign up to attend, due to limited space. Stop by or call the Port Clinton Senior Center from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at 419-734-1481.
