ABLE offers free adult education classes in Oak Harbor

Ottawa County Adult Basic and Literary Education (ABLE) is offering free classes to help adults who need to improve their basic educational skills to enter employment, to enroll in post secondary education or to earn a GED diploma.

The classes are held at the Ottawa County Resource Center in Oak Harbor on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-2 p.m.  and 6-8 p.m. The instructor is Sandy Braunworth.

Voter registration deadline is April 8

The Ottawa County Board of Elections reminds voters that the closing date for new voter registrations and changes of address for the May 7 Primary Election is April 8. Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Board of Elections, located at 8444 West State Route 163, Oak Harbor, will be open Monday, April 8, until 9 p.m.

The Marbletucky Inn brings down-home cooking to the north coast

The Marbletucky Inn, opening this summer at 189 South Bridge Road, Marblehead, will be bringing a new and yet familiar dining and entertainment experience to Ottawa County.

The tradition of island food, whether on the southern or the northern coast, is “food that makes you feel good, like you are coming home to Grandma’s house,” says manager and co-owner Kelsey Rider-Bell.
