Ottawa County Republican Women Spring Luncheon

On April 24, the Ottawa County Republican Women held their annual Spring Luncheon at Schedel Gardens in Elmore, with over 60 in attendance.

Elected officials, liaisons for Ohio state office holders and local candidates were present, including U.S. Representative Bob Latta, Ohio Senator Randy Gardner, and Ottawa County Commissioner Steve Arndt. Also attending were Lyn Bliss (Ohio Federation of Republican Women President), Steve Kraus (Republican Candidate for the Ohio 89th District) and Roni Reid (Republican candidate for Ottawa County Auditor). Each spoke briefly to the group.

After the buffet lunch, Vivienne Sommerfield provided an interactive educational presentation about The Star Spangled Banner. 2014 is the 200th anniversary of its writing by Francis Scott Key. The guests were free to stroll through beautiful Schedel Gardens where spring had finally "sprung" with over 3000 daffodils in bloom.
