Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes Dr. Tony Campolo

Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes Dr. Tony Campolo as the Chaplain of the Week from July 13-16.

Dr. Tony Campolo will lead the 10:30 a.m. Hoover Community Worship Service on Sunday, July 13 in Hoover Auditorium. His sermon, titled “Living Life Over Again,” is based on Philippians 3:10-14.

For those who wish to attend worship, a complimentary Church Pass may be obtained Sundays between 7:30-10:30 a.m., valid until 3 p.m. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto.

Dr. Campolo will preach at 9:15 a.m. Monday-Wednesday for Chaplain’s Hour in Hoover Auditorium. His overall Chaplain’s Hour theme will be “Changing the World from the Inside Out.”

Lakeside Chautauqua summer entertainment July 12-18

Purchasing a Daily or Season Chautauqua Pass grants access to all evening shows in Hoover Auditorium at no extra charge. Guests must present Chautauqua Passes upon entering Hoover Auditorium.

A Daily Chautauqua Pass is $19.75 for adults and $13.75 for youth (ages 12-18) per day. Children under age 12 and guests over the age of 90 are always free. Chautauqua Passes may be purchased in advance at lakesideohio.com or upon entering the gates of Lakeside Chautauqua.

Lakeside Chautauqua Fourth of July parade

The Lakeside Chautauqua Fourth of July parade started at 10 a.m. with the Children's Bike Parade in Perry Park. The Fourth of July Float Parade followed the bike parade traveling east to west on Second Street.

The Grand Marshall for both parades was Les Cunningham, a familiar face around the Lakeside community. He leads the Children's Bike Parade every year. He also ushers at Hoover Community Worship Services, assists Chip Richter with God Squad, volunteers at the Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival and helps at Lakeside's annual spring clean up day.
