Lakeside Chautauqua summer employment and internships available

Lakeside Chautauqua is currently seeking seasonal employment and internship applicants for the 2014 Chautauqua summer season. Lakeside offers high school students, college students and recent college graduates a way to earn income while having fun in the sun, developing new friendships and discovering their potential.

The Lakeside Leadership Academy is also accepting applicants for the 2014 internship program. Lakeside Chautauqua offers a competitive internship compensation, which includes a seasonal stipend, housing, Season Chautauqua Pass and Parking Pass, as well as career networking opportunities.

Lakeside Chautauqua hires Kunz as new Content Manager

Although it has only been two short years since Melissa Kunz completed her summer internship with the Lakeside Leadership Academy, she is thrilled to be back at Lakeside Chautauqua as the new Content Manager. Originally from Canfield, Ohio, Kunz earned a B.A. in Communication from the University of Mount Union.

“I’m so excited to be back working for Lakeside,” said Kunz. “I am really looking forward to enhancing the Lakeside experience for new and returning guests through various marketing efforts.”

As the new Content Manager, Kunz is responsible for managing content and projects related to marketing, fundraising and the website, ensuring they are consistent with the mission and strategic goals of the organization. The Content Manager also designs promotions, assists with traditional and digital marketing efforts and creates social media content.

Lakeside Chautauqua hires new Rhein Center Director

MaryAnn Kelmer was recently appointed as Lakeside Chautauqua’s new C. Kirk Rhein Jr. Center for the Living Arts Director. The Rhein Center is an inspiring space for fine arts and crafts classes during Lakeside Chautauqua’s summer season.

Kelmer served as the position’s Administrative Assistant for two years under Richard and Shirley Witteborg. This promotion marks Kelmer’s 21st year visiting the Chautauqua community. Kelmer attended Sinclair Community College in Dayton, where she studied Medical Records Administration. After receiving her degree, she worked at Piqua Memorial Hospital for 15 years.

Before working at Lakeside Chautauqua, Kelmer spent time traveling with her business, Fabric Rescue. She started the organization 20 years ago, teaching people how to up-cycle used fabric for quilt making.
