Orchestra Hall Movie Theater opens with ‘Preview Weekend’

Ottawa County’s only movie theater, located in Lakeside Chautauqua’s historic downtown business district, recently received a new digital projector to enhance the movie experience.

Guests and residents of the peninsula are invited to attend an Orchestra Hall ‘preview weekend’ screening of “The Monuments Men” (PG-13), starring George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Bill Murray and John Goodman. (118 mins). The movie will be shown at 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17. Movie tickets are free for this weekend only.

Orchestra Hall will officially open for the summer season over Memorial Day weekend with “The Lego Movie” (PG) (100 mins). This animated children’s movie, with an all-star cast, will be shown at 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, and 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25. Movie tickets are $7 per adult and $3 for youth (under age 12). Please note that Orchestra Hall does not support 3D film.

Hotel Lakeside Dining Room opening May 22

Lakeside Chautauqua will once again partner with Black Tie Catering to offer lakefront dining at the Hotel Lakeside Dining Room and Café. The official opening is Thursday, May 22. 

Lunch hours are 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and dinner hours are 5-8 p.m., Monday-Saturday. A special dinner menu will be featured on Friday and Saturday evenings. A Sunday Brunch Buffet will be offered from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. beginning Sunday, June 1. Cost for Sunday Brunch is $16.95 for adults, $6.95 for children (ages 6-10), and children under age 5 are free.

Otterbein Breakfast of Champions features Lakeside Summer Arts Program

Otterbein North Shore Senior Lifestyle Community will present its May Breakfast of Champions on Wednesday, May 14, at 9 a.m. The event will be held at the North Shore campus at 9400 North Shore Blvd., Lakeside-Marblehead. A complimentary hot breakfast buffet prepared by Executive Chef Ron La Pointe will be served. Following the breakfast MaryAnn Kelmer, Lakeside Chautauqua’s new C. Kirk Rhein Jr. Center for the Living Arts Director, will tell about the arts and crafts classes during Lakeside’s summer season. Kelmer has a passion for the arts and for “up-cycle quilting”.
