U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel 9th District Congressional hopeful Joe Wurzelbacher — aka Joe the Plumber — will be among the candidate speakers at the Ottawa County Republican Women's Club get together on Thursday, May 24. Women, men and teens are welcome to the loft at Mon Ami Restaurant, 3845 E. Wine Cellar Road, Port Clinton.
There will be hors d' oeuvres, a cash bar, a silent auction and an opportunity to chat with candidates, elected officials and friends beginning at 5:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., Mandel, Wurzelbacher and others will speak. Sandy Bihn, the Great Lakes Water Lady will speak briefly on algae.
Reservations are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. For reservation, send a check for $20 per person, payable to OCRW Pam Fredrick, Treasurer, to 133 E Main St., Oak Harbor, OH 43440. Include names and addresses of those attending. For late reservations, call 419-898-1387.
The OCRW's Club was organized in 1939 to encourage Republican Women (and in present years men) to join and be actively involved in political education and legislative information. It is affiliated with the State and National Republican Women's Organizations. Candidates' campaign funds are often helped by the Club, yearly the Club sponsors a high school girl to Ohio Buckeye Girls' State and on patriotic holidays place American flags in highly visible areas.
