Lakeside United Methodist Church is offering Vacation Bible School to all children in the area, including those who are visiting for the week in Lakeside, those in the Island View/Marblehead Peninsula/Port Clinton areas, as well as members and friends of Lakeside UMC August 4-8 from 6-8 p.m.
Complimentary Lakeside gate passes will be available at the Fifth Street gate, South gate, and Island View gate. Gate passes include children, adults and the car, and are good each day of VBS from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be a Gate Greeter at each gate to help with directions to the church and parking, and with suggestions for Lakeside activities for adults who choose to stay at Lakeside while children participate in VBS.
VBS activities will include “Celebration and Tribe Time,” where kids become members of one of the 12 tribes of Israel and learn about trusting God through song and worship. Each day, they will visit Moses’s tent, where they will experience a story from Moses in a surprising, unforgettable way. In the Israelite Camp, they will meet a rope maker, the baker, a sandal stitcher, a musician, and the camel herder who will teach them about living as wilderness nomads. Kids will collect Bible Memory Buddies™ to remind them of God’s Word. Everyone will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through God Sightings™. Refreshments will be served each evening.
