Otterbein Awards honor those who give back

Otterbein Homes President and CEO, Jill Hreben, along with Otterbein North Shore Executive Tom Keith, recently bestowed special recognition to individuals and companies who have gone above and beyond to support the mission of the senior community located in Danbury Township near Lakeside.

Resident Marilyn Infield graciously received the Philanthropist of the Year award for thoughtful and generous gifts throughout 2013.  Specifically, in memory of her husband, Dean, Marilyn donated the funds to purchase a new bus for ONS community use.

Marblehead resident, Destiny McMurray, RN, MDS nurse and Quality Assurance Coordinator at the Jane Baker House was named the President’s Outstanding Partner of the Year for exceptional work ethic and overall dedication to the Otterbein family every day. Often making personal sacrifices, Destiny goes above and beyond to ensure quality care. 

Auxiliary President Betty Shrock was named Community Volunteer of the Year for her vision to expand the auxiliary to better support the Otterbein community. Betty is quick to volunteer and help whenever and wherever needed. 

Janet Clark was honored as Resident Volunteer of the Year. Janet can be seen in every corner of the campus assisting residents and partners in any way she can. From delivering mail, to calling bingo and even creating gifts for friends, Janet is always in action.  

The Ida Rupp Public Library received the Community Service Provider of the Year award for their vision and positioning itself as a noteworthy community outreach. The Ida Rupp Library helps community members enjoy the written word and much more; to educate us, make our lives work smarter and be more fun.
