Danbury Township names top dog

Best trick winner Alexis performing her trick at the Danbury Township Dog Show at the Bark Until Dark dog park.

On May 18 sunshine and blue skies welcomed visitors to the first blue ribbon dog show hosted by the Danbury Township Trustees. 115 people attended and 32 dogs were entered in the show. Police Chief Michael Meisler, Lorrain Croy, who is running for Ottawa County Common Pleas Court, and De Anna Lamb, manager of the Canoe Club, were judges at the event.

Two raffle prizes were donated by Bayside Comfort and lunch was donated by Big Boppers Restaurant. Nine blue ribbons were awarded in the following categories to the following participants:

• Best of Show: Brig
• Cutest Dog: Dolly
• Largest Dog: Zoe
• Smallest Dog: Cincinnati
• Most Awesome Tail: Penny
• Best Color: Mickey
• Ugliest Dog: Cooper
• Best Dog Name: Libby Begonia
• Best Trick: Alexis

At the end of the event $566 was raised for the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
