On Saturday, Feb. 22, Magruder Hospital held its annual charity ball at the Catawba Island Club. The theme of the night was Prom Night, A Night to Remember. Catawba Island Club created a drink, the Prom Crush, especially for the event. Rock N Roll Express provided music for the cocktail hour and The Junk performed after dinner.
“This is a transition year,” said Vice President of Nursing Kathy Durflinger, RN. “The money raised tonight will go to the Magruder Hospital Foundation to go towards purchasing a new MRI for the hospital.”
There was also a flag for auction at the ball that was donated by Marcy Kaptur. The flag flew over the capital on Valentine’s Day this year.
“The Danbury High School art teacher made our prom sign this year that is hanging over the entrance to the ball,” said Durflinger. “We wanted to reach out into the community to have them join in on the fun of the event.”
