United way of Greater Toledo, along with their funded partners, kicked off a 10 Days of Giving Blitz which runs from Feb. 19-28.
United Way has developed the 10 Days of Giving Blitz to appeal to individuals who did not participate in the 2013 campaign.
“An aggressive goal was set for 2013 because it was needed to help individuals and families be successful in our community,” said Chip Carstensen, president of Block Communications, Inc. and 2013 United Way of Greater Toledo campaign chair. “Turning our backs on a goal that hasn’t been met means turning our backs on the undeserved in our community.”
“The only way to achieve big goals for our community is for all of us to do it together,” said Carstensen.
“The number one reason people don’t give is because they haven’t been asked,” said Karen Mathison, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Toledo. “Together we invite the community one last time to give to the 2013 campaign. We would be remiss to not make a final ask, as the needs in our community continue to rise.”
Ottawa County Director Chris Galvin echoed this plea inviting people to support United Way here in Ottawa County.
