Art Club paints with Jim Andrews

The Port Clinton Artists’ Club will host an oil painting class at the Sutton Center, 1854 Perry Street on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The class instructor is Bellevue artist Jim Andrews. Known for his “chalk talk,” Andrews is also an accomplished and award-winning watercolor and oil painter, and teaches at Terra State Community College.  Students will have a choice of two possible paintings. There are still a few spaces available for this class.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, also at the Sutton Center, Kathie Widing will be teaching an oil or acrylic (student’s choice) painting of a poinsettia. The classes are $45 per person, and sign up for both classes can be made by contacting Program Chair Kathie Widing, 419-341-0817.

The Sutton Center also includes an art gallery maintained by the Port Clinton Artists’ Club. The art is available for sale. The Gallery features oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings, batik, copper enamels, pencil drawings, and mixed media. The gallery is located next to Common Grounds Deli and is open to the public.
