VFW Auxiliary potluck shared with District 9 and State dignitaries

A Marblehead VFW Ladies Auxiliary dinner was held Sept. 24th at the post followed by an inspection meeting which was led by Aux. 7572 President Deb Garrard, who is also District 9 Sr. Vice.  This inspection was done by District 9 Jr. Vice Lisa Cook, who was presented a beautiful American Flag sweater created by local Auxiliary sister Mary Ann Monak.

Other dignitaries attending the meeting were Sue Madden, District 9 Chief of Staff and Secretary; Annie Mooney, State membership chairman; Rose Foos , past Auxiliary President; and Jennie McGrady, present District 9 President.

Minutes and treasurers reports were read and accepted. A thank you and donation were read and accepted from the Jerry Hansen family.

It was announced that Auxiliary 7572 has reached their goal of $1,000 for cancer research. Legislative chairman Jessica Garrard encouraged all to go online and sign up for the Washington Weekly which keeps you up to date on Veterans Affairs, and to sign letters to Sherrod Brown concerning the above.

Donations were made to the Danbury Food Pantry, Wreaths across America and Golfing for a Cause. 

Members were reminded to save the date for a Halupki Dinner on Oct. 19 and a Chicken Paprikash Dinner on Nov. 2. Both dinners will be served from 4 until 7 and are open to the public.

The next meeting is Oct. 22 at 7:30. Those interested in becoming a member and in honoring our veterans are welcome to attend.
