Art Club sponsors day trip

Port Clinton Artists’ Club “Reflections of America” museum tour will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The Butler Institute of American Art, located in Youngstown, is the first museum of American art. The original structure, dedicated in 1919, is an architectural masterpiece listed on the National Register of Historic places. The museum's mission is to preserve and collect works of art in all media created by citizens of our country. The Institute's holdings now exceed 20,000 individual works, and the Butler is known worldwide as "America's Museum." The Butler permanent collection includes works from four centuries, and is assembled in galleries in chronological order according to the history of America. The collection mirrors the dynamic changes the nation has experienced in the four centuries of our country’s history.

The cost of the trip is $45 per person. The tour bus will leave from the Sutton Center, 1854 E. Perry St., Port Clinton, at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The bus will depart promptly at 8 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. A docent tour is scheduled. A café is on site for lunch; bottled water and snacks will be provided on the road.  For more information contact Helen at 419-797-4411 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
