The Building Doctor comes to Port Clinton in September

Main Street Port Clinton will be hosting a free Building Doctor Clinic on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at Commodore Perry located at 255 Lakeshore Drive in Port Clinton.  Experts from the Ohio Historic Preservation office will help building owners preserve the features that make old buildings appealing while solving some of the most common old-building problems, including maintenance and repairs, masonry problems, new additions that fit in with the old, roofs and drainage, and wood and painting.

If you own a building or are interested in older buildings, to register contact the Main Street Port Clinton office at 419-734-5503 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

The first Building Doctor Clinic was held in Portsmouth, Ohio, in 1979.  Since then, more than 230 clinics for old-building owners have been held in communities throughout Ohio, making the Building Doctor one of the oldest continuously operated programs of its kind in the U.S., and one of the Ohio Historical Society’s most popular and enduring outreach programs.
