Daybreak 2013, a special mission training event sponsored by Sandusky Area Lutherans in Mission with support from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be held Friday through Sunday, July 26, 27, & 28, at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky. This event is for individuals, youth groups and families.
Daybreak begins on Friday at 8 p.m. with a free concert in the Kalahari Convention Center ballroom with the Christian band “Rew!nd” .
Saturday will open with worship at 8:30 a.m., followed by keynote speaker Pastor Ruben Duran, the director for new congregations and congregational outreach for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. His presentation is engaging and uplifting as he encourages his audience to join in God’s mission to all people. Workshops and mission events are planned for the remainder of the day, concluding with closing remarks and a commissioning service before Saturday events end at 4 p.m. There will be activities for individuals, youth groups, and families, and child care for very young children.

On Sunday morning, July 28, the Sandusky Area Lutherans invite the community to join them at 10:30 a.m. for a special joint worship service in the Kalahari ballroom.
To emphasize the mission theme of Daybreak the Second Harvest food truck will be in the Kalahari parking lot and accepting donations throughout the entire three-day Daybreak event.
