Camp NEOSA and other Salvation Army programs

On June 19th, 37 children got up early, loaded onto a chartered bus filled with snacks & movies, and headed to Camp NEOSA in Carrollton, OH, for five days filled with swimming, canoeing, hiking, outside sport activities, singing, role-playing and arts & crafts.

Camp NEOSA (Northeast Ohio Salvation Army) is one of the many programs offered by The Salvation Army-Port Clinton Service Unit. Camp NEOSA provides an atmosphere where campers learn skills for developing physically, socially and spiritually. The camp is aimed at helping campers learn good health habits and provides an opportunity for them to contribute to and receive from a group living experience. Campers participate in activities that stimulate creativity and foster independence. The Port Clinton Service Unit has provided this opportunity to approximately 35-40 campers each year for the past sixteen years.

Currently, the Salvation Army is taking applications for the “Tools for School” program and needs bell ringers for their “Christmas in July” campaign, July 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.
