The Port Clinton High School Class of 2015 will be holding the first Star Spangled Squirt Gun Run/Walk 5K on Thursday, July 4. This unique race will feature squirt gun-wielding volunteers along the route, providing a way for runners to beat the heat. Proceeds from the event will go towards class activities, including prom and senior picnic, ensuring that all members of the class are able to experience these lifelong memories.
Registration begins at 8 a.m at the Jefferson St. Pavilion, and the race begins at 9 a.m. The scenic course will take participants along Lake Erie and through historic downtown Port Clinton. Following the race, racers will head back to the Jefferson Street Pavilion for refreshments and awards.
Entry fees are $20 per racer for those who pre-register by July 1st and $25 thereafter or on race day. All participants registered by July 1st will also receive a T-shirt.
