Tickets are now on sale for Boogie Woogie Bugle Girls of Company Red, an American Red Cross gala benefitting local Red Cross disaster relief and recovery. The event will take place Friday, July 19, at 6 p.m. at the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton.
Boogie Woogie Bugle Girls of Company Red is the 6th annual Club Red fundraising gala for the Red Cross. This year theme encourages guests to wear World War II or USO apparel as they’re transported to the 40’s for the evening.
Tickets are $110 for this traditionally sold-out affair. Seating is limited and includes hors d’oeuvres, dinner provided by Zinc Brasserie, and a chance to win the grand raffle. Members of The Ohio State Traveling Band will entertain party-goers with selections from the Big Band Era and may include an OSU standard or two.
“The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The Ottawa County Red Cross volunteers exemplify our mission every day,” said Beth Leggett, Director of American Red Cross in Ottawa County.
Club Red, a ladies’ auxiliary, provides educational opportunities to further the services and programs of the Red Cross. The volunteer-led group is devoted to humanitarian services and compassion.
“Many Club Red members have a personal Red Cross story to tell about a time when an emergency communication to a family member in the military was needed, or that of a fire or tornado recovery,” explains Danis Putbach, this year’s event chair. “Some have helped save a life using Red Cross training, while others have given or received lifesaving blood products. The Red Cross is an integral part of our lives and the Club Red gala is a dynamic and entertaining way to support such a worthy cause.”
