Grande Maison Construction LLC, located in Norwalk, is the Grand Prize winner in the 14th annual Exterior Excellence Awards,
presented by Norandex Building Materials Distribution Inc., a leading national distributor of exterior siding, windows, roofing, and doors.
Grande Maison, which has been servicing the Norwalk, Sandusky, Huron, Port Clinton, Marblehead and other areas of Northern Ohio for nearly four decades, earned the award for its renovation of a house in Marblehead.
Gary and Aaron Kalizewski, owners of Grande Maison, take great pride in the award-winning project, a remodel of a 125-year-old home on the shores of Lake Erie. The project consisted of a large historical restoration with two large additions.
“The homeowners wanted a siding product that would help preserve the historical architecture of the home and also perform well in a high-wind location,” said Kalizewski. “The siding also needed to be rigid enough to help smooth out some of the framing irregularities. And most of all, the homeowners specifically wanted something that required very little maintenance.”
The siding, sold exclusively by Hudson-Ohio based Norandex Building Materials Distribution, features a distinct look that gives the impression of hand-cut cedar – both to the eye and to the touch.
“We at Grande Maison Construction, are very proud of this award,” said Kalizewski. “We approach every job as if it was a work of art, and we had a wonderful foundation with which to work on this historic home. Our philosophy is to build a quality project by utilizing the finest materials available and adhering to the highest construction standards. Working with Norandex and Everlast siding makes our job that much easier.”
As Grand Prize winner, Grande Maison earned a trip for two to Aruba.
