Butterscotch’s brood is looking for homes

Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary was transporting Butterscotch, a German Short haired pointer. She made a four hour trip while in labor and was supposed to be boarded at Oak Harbor Pet Haven. Instead Butterscotch’s first puppy was born two hours after arriving at ISHAS.

She gave birth to a total of 13 puppies. Since this was her first litter and because she is only a year old it is unusual to have all of the pups born alive. The pups are now eight weeks old and ready to be adopted to permanent homes.
Butterscotch’s brood are all happy, healthy, safe and clean and have had their first puppy shots. If you are interested in seeing about adopting one of the pups, call ISHAS at 419.960.7487 and make an appointment. Adoption fee is $85.00 plus proof of a pre-paid spay/neuter note from your veterinarian, or ISHAS will issue a Lets Limit Litters Certificate for the spay/neuter  to be done by their veterinarian for a cost of $115.00
