On Friday, volunteers from The Salvation Army and the U.S. Marines combined to shop for Toys for Tots. According to Maureen Saparoni, Salvation Army Director for Ottawa County, generous donations of $1500 each from Ollie’s and Big Lots in Sandusky helped boost the toy fund.
800 families and nearly 1900 children from throughout Ottawa County, from Graytown to Marblehead, will have a better holiday thanks to the program that makes sure no child goes without toys at Christmas.
Toys are set up by age range for ease of distribution. On Dec. 12, qualified Ottawa County families will have the opportunity to select toys.
