The Flagship Awards are part of Port Clinton City School District’s recognition program to honor parents, community members, staff and students that help the district fulfill its motto of “Proudly Charting a Course for Success.” At the Nov. 19 meeting, the Port Clinton Board of Education recognized the following individuals with Flagship Awards:

Ben Moore and Ken Williams have provided a team of leadership, commitment, and achievement for the past three years by supporting Redskin student athletes. They have also provided the PCHS Golf Team with one of the finest and most challenging home courses in Northwest Ohio. In addition, they have hosted the growing Port Clinton High School Invitational, allowed the course to be used for various fundraising purposes, accommodated team practice time, provided key instruction and even offered employment opportunities for students. The Redskin Golf Team has won two consecutive SBC Championships and was the 2012 Sectional and District Champion and Regional Qualifier.
Port Clinton City School District honor the leadership and commitment to students and school district of Catawba Island Club and Moore and Williams with a Flagship Crew Award.
Lori Waite is a very active mother to three daughters who is always busy with their many activities. Her involvement in the Port Clinton Music Boosters keeps her even busier with coordinating all the Music Booster projects and events.
Waite’s job was even bigger when it was announced The Ohio State University Marching Band was coming to town. Waite was instrumental in all the planning that helped make the weekend a success. This is just one of the many ways Lori Waite is committed to supporting Port Clinton City School District and all students. To honor Waite’s commitment, the Board of Education presented her with the Flagship First Mate Award.
For decades the Ida Rupp Public Library has been a faithful partner with the Port Clinton City School District.
This year the partnership with Ida Rupp grows to an entirely new level. Proving their vision for learning that benefits the youngest members of our community, librarians from Ida Rupp will help staff the new Media Centers at Bataan Memorial Elementary and Port Clinton Middle School.
For their service Ida Rupp received a Flagship Crew Award.
