Brownies visit McCallum Gallery
Jen Moore, troop leader of Port Clinton’s Brownie Troop # 10862, visited the Jodie McCallum Fine Art Gallery on Oct. 29th to fulfill a badge requirement of meeting an artist and working on a piece of artwork without using a paint brush.
Jodie’s husband Grant assisted each Brownie in the art of airbrushing, as each of the girls held and airbrushed the background of a design developed by Jodie. After the lavender background was complete, Jodie demonstrated a technique that she has developed over the years by applying a textured paper towel over a wet watercolor and removing it to display a textured design within the watercolor. Each Brownie had the opportunity to select a textured paper towel and apply it to complete a turkey design that each girl signed. Prints are being developed for each Brownie.
