In this abundant county and country where we live, there is much for which to be grateful.
This week we celebrate Thanksgiving. We gather with family and friends and community, each in our own way, and we give thanks, each in our own way.
There are many opportunities, especially at this season, for giving to our community as a way of giving thanks. Some of those simple ways are suggested in articles throughout today’s Beacon. We share them with you as one of our ways of giving back to the community that gives so much.
Whether you give the gift of time to a community Thanksgiving meal, or ring the bell for the Salvation Army, or give a monetary donation to United Way, or shop locally at craft fairs and local businesses, or give gifts of food or toys or mittens, or support a family in need at a benefit dinner, or give yourself the gift of fitness while running for a good cause, or donate a Christmas tree, may your giving come back to you tenfold.
