The Underwood Pavillion in Lakeview Park, Port Clinton, was dedicated on Oct. 27, Make a Difference Day.

Underwood Pavilion is in honor of Bob Underwood, Port Clinton restaurateur and one of the founders of The Friends of Port Clinton Parks.
After a welcome by Dave Mehl, treasurer of The Friends of Port Clinton Parks, Linda Hartlaub reminisced about Underwood’s many contributions to the community, from the people he employed in his restaurant to those that he fed when they could not afford to pay, to his dedication to Lakeview Park.
Port Clinton Mayor Vincent Leone shared that he appreciated that it was appropriate the dedication was on Make A Difference Day, with thanks “ for all that Bob Underwood gave to the community and for all the volunteers.”
About the simple ceremony, Lisa Underwood, Bob’s daughter-in-law said, “Bob would not have liked the fuss, but he would have been pleased to be a part of the park. He will continue to look over things.”
