Though the lake is not yet ready for ice fishing and though prospects do not look good with the warming trend this week, on Saturday there were ice fishermen at East Harbor State Park. Several had portable ice shanties and some braved the cold and sat on buckets. Some of the fishermen brought families and dogs, making the best of this window of opportunity for ice-fishing. The 60 Plus Nursing Assessment Clinic, provided by the Ottawa County Health Department and funded by Ottawa County Senior Resources through the CDBG program, provides the following services by a Registered Nurse:
Health assessment, medication counseling, blood pressure check, blood test for anemia, blood test to measure blood sugar, cholesterol screening, weight, diet information, health education, referrals to private physician for evaluation, if needed.
Unfortunately I ran into some physical problems recently, necessitating a week’s stay in Magruder Hospital. Fortunately, I can say that I had the absolute best of care. Starting with the PC EMS, to the Emergency room personnel, on to the Radiology and Cardiology Departments everyone was competent and professional. The Nursing staff,-especially nurse Robin, those in Occupational and Physical Therapy explained what they were doing so there were no surprises. My room was cleaned by a competent housekeeping staff daily.
