Ottawa Hills blanks Danbury, 35-0

Despite losing 35-0 to Ottawa Hills last Friday, Danbury had its chances.

The Lakers had their chances, but ultimately they failed to convert before a late touchdown in the second quarter put the Green Bears ahead 14-0 and broke Danbury's spirits.

Holding a 6-0 lead and facing a third-and-goal with eight seconds to play, Ottawa Hills quarterback Austin Stevens found Dan Intrater for an eight-yard touchdown, giving the Bears a 12-0 advantage before a two-point conversion made it 14-0 heading into the half.

County, township and city employee swim discount

Danbury Local School is offering an October special for all Ottawa County, Danbury Township and City employees. These employees can join open swim during the hours of 4-7 p.m. for $20. This amount is good for the whole month of October.

Gibsonburg pulls away from Danbury

Sometimes, the final score is very deceiving.

That was certainly the case in Danbury’s 58-24 loss to Gibsonburg on Friday night at Biro Field.

In its matchup with the top team in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, the Lakers fought tooth and nail to hang with the Golden Bears before Gibsonburg pulled away, pushing its 35-24 lead, which it held early in the fourth quarter, to 58-24 by scoring 23 unanswered points in the game’s final nine minutes.
