Terra State board welcomes two new members

The Terra State Community College Board of Trustees added two new members during its regular April meeting.

Matt Montowski of Catawba Island and Kay E. Reiter of Fremont were sworn in by board chair Carl Koebel. 

Montowski has been a self-employed independent insurance agent in Ottawa County for 23 years. He has also been a Catawba Island Township Trustee for nearly four years. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ashland University.

Doris M. Brough, Aug. 7, 1919-April 27, 2013

Doris M. Brough, 93, of Oak Harbor, died Saturday, April 27, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on August 7, 1919, in Oak Harbor to Fred and Mabel (Leiser) Henry. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.

FFA packs tree seedlings

Oak Harbor FFA students and Ottawa SWCD Staff packed tree seedlings for the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District at Moore Orchards. The annual tree sale program has been offered to landowners for over 40 years. Offered are varieties of small seedlings, shrubs and larger hardwoods. Native plant seed packets were also available.
